What is this baby name tool?
In short: this free page lets parents browse baby names from A to Z, read general meanings and origins, filter by gender and category, build custom name ideas, and generate 3- to 10-word combinations. It contains a starter set of names stored in the page itself.
Who is it for? Expecting parents, families, and anyone who enjoys exploring names, including Indian (Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Punjabi, Christian), Sanskrit-origin and international names.
Key terms. Name meaning is the commonly cited sense of a name. Origin is the language or culture the name is usually traced to. A custom name combination is a suggestion built from words you choose. The alphabet explorer filters names by their first letter.
Honest limits: this is a curated starter dataset, not a complete or fully verified database. Meanings and origins are general information, so please confirm with family elders, priests, imams, granthis or a trusted reference before you decide.

Name combination generator (3 to 10 words)
Generate multi-part suggestions on demand. Pick how many words you want, set your options, and press Generate.
These are generated suggestions, not an exhaustive list of every possible combination, and generated words are not verified names. The tool creates only what you ask for (at most 200 at a time), so the page never freezes.
Create your own baby name
Combine name parts, add a prefix or suffix, and preview instantly. Your creations are labelled as ideas. They are not verified existing names and have no recorded meaning.

Name meanings and origins: please read
Cultural and religious origin tags are informational labels, not guarantees. Many names are used across communities, and spellings and meanings vary by region and tradition. The dataset was assembled as a starter list from commonly cited general meanings. No individual meaning has been checked against a cited reference yet, which is why the “source” field is shown as not recorded. When a meaning is missing, the tool says so instead of guessing. Names you create or generate yourself are ideas only.
Frequently asked questions
It is a tool that helps you explore and shortlist baby names. This one lets you search a local name list, filter it, build custom ideas and generate multi-word combinations.
Use the A–Z explorer near the top of the page. Tap a letter to see names starting with it, or tap “All Letters” to clear the letter filter.
Yes. Choose the Indian, Hindu-origin, Muslim-origin, Sikh and Punjabi, Sanskrit-origin, Modern Indian or Traditional categories. You can also type a Hindi spelling where one is provided.
Yes. Pick Boy, Girl or Gender-neutral in the filters. Many names are used for more than one gender, so treat the label as a guide.
No. Meanings are commonly cited general meanings, and none of them has a recorded source yet. Please confirm with a trusted reference or your family before choosing.
Type a word such as “light”, “star” or “brave” in the search bar. The tool also looks at origin, category and gender words, and the matching text is highlighted.
It is a suggestion made of three name words, for example a first name, a middle name and a family name. Choose “3” in the combination generator to create them.
Yes. The generator supports every length from 3 through 10 words. If you disallow repeated words, you need enough different words in your pool, and the tool tells you when you do not.
Yes. Use “Create your own baby name” to join parts, add a prefix or suffix, choose a first letter and generate variations. They are marked as your ideas, not verified names.
The number of possible combinations is enormous, so the tool never lists them all. It shows up to 200 per run, tells you roughly how many are possible under your settings, and gives you a seed so a run can be repeated.
Yes. Tap “♡ Save” on any name or idea. Favorites are stored in your browser. If your browser blocks storage (for example in some private modes), they last only while the page stays open.
Yes. You can copy names, download TXT or CSV files, print a list, or download a name-card image where your browser supports it.
Yes. It is built for phones from about 320 px wide, with large touch targets and no heavy libraries. Very old browsers may lack some extras such as image download or native sharing.
No. There is no sign-up, login or payment, and nothing is locked behind sharing.
No. Searching, generating and saving all happen in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted by this tool. Your blog platform may still collect ordinary page-visit statistics.
Combinations are mixed from the words or letters you choose. Mode B in particular produces random letter strings for exploration and word games, so please do not treat them as real, meaningful names.
Leave a comment on this page or use the site’s contact page if one is available, with the name, gender, origin, meaning and a reference. The site owner can then add it to the dataset.
Once the page has fully loaded, searching and generating run locally and do not need a connection. The page itself still has to be loaded online first, and sharing features that open other apps need a connection.
Privacy and data handling
This tool has no accounts and sets no trackers of its own. Your searches, custom names and favorites are processed in your browser. The only thing stored is your favorites list, in your browser’s localStorage, which you can clear at any time with “Clear all”. Share buttons act only when you press them.
